About Fill the Funnel Founder Miles Austin
I started Fill the Funnel in September of 2007. I am a serial entrepreneur, and lifelong sales guy.
I have built and led sales organizations in the tech sector for over 20 years, ranging from regional and national computer resellers to Fortune 100 giants including NYNEX, CompuCom and Dell. These experiences provided the background for starting two successful startups including Focus Computers, recognized as the fastest growing private company by the Puget Sound Business Journal over a three year period. The result of this past success is Fill the Funnel – an innovative company that provides the advice and solutions that empower people to successfully grow their businesses through social media and web tools.
I am a teacher and coach at my core. From my earliest days as an athlete I realized the joy of teaching something new to a teammate that helped them improve their performance. As my college running career was winding down, I coached a kids track program. Experiencing the dramatic improvement in performance, but more importantly the self-confidence of each child was a reward that was burned into my soul.
It was from these experiences that my “style” of writing, of speaking and of my training developed. I am a hands-on guy, and prefer to have done something myself before I teach others. It helps me deliver better results in whatever task I am doing.
I hope this gives you a general understanding of what I do professionally. Personally, I am a proud Dad to three wonderful and unique children and Grandpa to two wonderful young men and the sweetest granddaughter you will ever meet.
When I truly need to just unplug and get away from all the craziness in life, you can find me on a Harley, bed-roll and pack strapped to the sissy bar, cruising down some winding, un-populated country or mountain road with the biggest smile you have ever seen. That’s how I roll.
